At last week’s Best Shots Rapid Review column, I wrote a little bit about All New X-Men #2.
We’re seeing the present day through the eyes of characters who were never meant to do the things that they have. Immonen captures the confused innocence of the original five X-Men while showing how different and strange the modern world is from anything that they could have imagined.
So far, Marvel NOW! feels like an exercise in rearranging the deck chairs more than anything revolutionary. I’ve actually liked both issues of this so far but I’m waiting to see the fun of the original characters resurface again.
