Another light week, which isn’t bad at all. I’ve got a huge pile of books lying around that need to be read so I’ll take weeks like this right now.
- Wednesday Comics #7– Sooner or later, I’ll get around to reading this whole thing. Somehow, this hasn’t felt like a must-read to me. It’s a pretty looking book but, honestly, I want more than pretty. Nothing I’ve read in the first couple of issues jumped out at me as any great writing or story. This has been a showcase for the art and for the format.
- Filthy Rich HC– After finally reading the conclusion of 100 Bullets, I’m anxious to see what Azzarello does next. This kind of crime story seems right up his alley. I’ve been in a crime mood lately so I’ll read this.
- Complete Essex County TP– This still remains one of my favorite works of the past decade. Jeff Lemire’s tales of family, sadness and lost is a fantastic combination of words and pictures, where his art style perfectly blends in with the story he’s telling.
- Naoki Urasawas 20th Century Boys Vol 4 TP– Wait, we’re only four volumes in? For some reason, I thought we were up to the fifth volume of this series.
