As a quick followup to this morning’s post, I see that NBC has cancelled a couple of series including MY OWN WORST ENEMY. MY OWN WORST ENEMY is reportedly working on their 9th and probably final episode.
PUSHING DAISIES got two seasons; so did LIPSTICK JUNGLE. MY OWN WORST ENEMY got only a partial season. BLUE BEETLE got over 30 issues and I think we could all tick off favorite series that were cancelled after only 5 or 6 issues.
It’s the natural cycle of entertainment; things are created, put out before the public and either succeed or fail on any number of merits, financially being a key aspect of them. It’s hard for me to get choked up about cancellations of television shows or comic books right now because it seems like there’s barely anytime to get to know either of them anymore.

I won’t say I’m choked up but I was really enjoying MY OWN WORST ENEMY. Solid cast, interestling idea for a show, and they do a good job making each episode fresh. I won’t cry foul like I did for Firefly or Arrested Development but I will miss the show. Would love to see Sci-Fi run with it but they won’t. They would rather make another Boa movie…
Aw nertz. I wanted at least two seasons of My Own Worst Enemy. I couldn’t imagine that they could keep the theme going longer than that, but until then, it was worth my viewership.
