Is it just me or is the cliff hanger ending of Secret Invasion #4 basically the same cliff hanger ending of issue #3?
Over on CBR, Bendis has his own version of a director’s commentary for Secret Invasion #4 and he talked about two pages where I really liked the storytelling.
Here’s page 3. I like the way Yu zooms in, doing from a shot seen from space and zooms into a shot of Ms. Marvel above NYC. It’s a neat way to establish the scope of the invasion, as you clearly see the United States in the first panel, implying that the threat described on the previous pages threatens at least the entire country before you zoom into the final panel, seeing a city and a skrull. It’s a way to bring the whole shebang home to the reader.

In four panels, it’s probably the best use of the Black Widow in a couple of years.
She’s been doing fantastic stuff in Brubaker’s Captain America…
Yeah, I forgot about her in Captain America. I like her and Bucky’s relationship.
