So last night for a variety of reasons, I missed watching Heroes. I really didn’t plop down to begin watching any TV until 10pm last night and felt no need to go back and watch the show I loved so dearly last season. And I’m left wondering “why?”
First off, I’ve gotten to love my DVR. Instead of watching the recorded Heroes, I watched last night’s How I Met Your Mother (not as funny as the season premier,) last season’s Scrubs finale which Comedy Central showed last night and a couple of episodes of Entourage from either their first or second season. Heck, if I wanted to stay up later, a couple of episodes of Damage, Dr. Who and Torchwood were higher on my list of shows to watch rather than Heroes. I don’t live completely in a time shifted world but I’m getting close. I still have to watch House on the night it’s on but don’t feel the same toward other shows.
But I also barely care that I missed Heroes other than in a strange way of wondering why. It was my favorite show earlier this year but after a rather lackluster season premiere, I feel no urgency to rush home tonight and watch it. Did the show lose something over the summer or is the shine off of this show now that it’s no longer the new kid on the block?
