Neil Gaiman and Charles Vess together again.

By Scott Cederlund in comics

Sandman #19 came out when I was in college, possibly when I was taking a Shakespeare course. Their magical take on Shakespeare’s magical A MIDSUMMER’S NIGHT DREAM, cemented the wonderful reputation the series would enjoy. If nothing else, check out last year’s Absolute Sandman just to see a great representation of this issue. They’ve worked on a number of other books as well, including issue #3 of the original Books of Magic mini.

On his blog, Charles Vess shows off some of their new work, Blueberry Girl. His work is very lyrical and expressive, matching Gaiman’s short stories. I’ll have to look and see if this is story is in any of Gaiman’s short story collections.
